"Jack's" Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament is set for this Wednesday May 22rd at Pine Crest. On the Links recently caught up with tournament chair Doug Gibson.

Wildfire Invitational / PGA Tour Canada Looking for Volunteers

PGA TOUR Canada has added a ninth tournament to its 2013 schedule, it was announced Tuesday. The Wildfire Invitational, a new event featuring 128 professionals and 64 amateurs, will take place August 26th to September 1st at Wildfire Golf Club just outside of Peterborough. 

 

The three-year agreement will see the tournament take place at Wildfire, an exclusive club outside of Peterborough which has been ranked in the Score Golf Top 100 courses in Canada, through the 2015 season. The unique pro-am format features amateurs playing in teams with two different PGA TOUR Canada players on Thursday and Friday, with the final 36 holes reserved for professional competition.

 

Currently the event is looking for several volunteers to work at the tournament. For details follow this link and we'll see you On the Links

Take A Kid To The Course @ Bellmere Winds

“Take a Kid to The Course Week" has come and gone at most participating courses but at Bellmere Winds just east of Keene, Ontario the promotion continues for another month.
 
As we find out in this segment of On the Links TV,  the program is designed to encourage families and juniors to take up the game of golf, come out and experience the game together.

 

Available only on tee times after 1:00 PM seven days a week.
